Scalability

So how does the CDS help your business solution to scale?

Since the Common Data Service utilises cloud-based storage, when you create an instance of a CDS (i.e. create a CDS database), it can already support a large number of data sets. Entities can hold millions of items, but if you ever need more space, it's flexible to add more storage capacity.

The amount of data available to your Common Data Service depends on how many licences and also the type of licences that are associated with your CDS instance. Data is also pooled across all users, so you can easily upscale or downscale the size of your database at any point. Again, if you need more storage space, you can always purchase more!

Note CDS is meant to be mainly transactional based when it operates. So it should only be running on request by users and not running for a long time.
